Welcome to Week 6 and the final stop in our winter blog hop, The Holly Jolly Blog Fest. Each week, from December 2 to January 6, six authors answer two holiday related questions.
This week, my guest blogger is the wonderful author Sharon Poppen!
Hi, Sharon!
Gina, Thank you for hosting me in the first few days of
2013. As writers, it’s always good for our creative spirit and the chance to
meet new potential readers, so it’s really exciting to be here on your website.
Now, a little about me. Usually, I write historical romance
novels. My first three books focus on strong women in the old west. However, my
latest novel ‘Regardless’ is a step in a new direction for me into the
sci-fi/gay genre. It’s the story of two men in the future who, against all
odds, find themselves in love. As with all my novels, it is very character
driven. These characters have many good points, but they can also be very
human. By human, I mean they often follow their hearts versus their minds. And,
this sometimes brings them to do some naughty things, which make my books adult
reading. They are not of the ’50 Shades ….’ naughty, just true to adult
relationships.
As for our questions for this first week of 2013:
So now it is June 2013: what have you accomplished since
Christmas 2012
The best thing is the publication of my latest novel
‘Regardless’. It took years to find a publisher that would take on a gay/sci-fi
genre novel, so I’m really grateful to Regal Crest Enterprises, LLC for taking
a chance on me. Also, I completed book six of my saga of the Farrell Family.
Only the first book is in print, but book two will be out this spring. I’ve had
more fan letters/calls this year than ever before so my readership seems to be
growing. I’m frequently asked to speak before groups and my workshops on
various aspects of writing always bring a good attendance here locally. So, all
in all, 2012 has been a good year for my writing efforts.
What would you give Santa for Christmas other than cookies
and milk?
Copies of all my books.
Now that Christmas is over, he’ll have some time for some cocoa by the
fireplace and perhaps if he reads my books, he’ll leave them as gifts for some
of those editors at the big publishing houses or better still as gifts for
Hollywood directors like Steven Spielberg and Ron Howard.
Thanks so much for
stopping by Gina’s blog. Please leave a comment on these questions or share
with us how you would answer them. Your comment might just win you a $50 Amazon
gift certificate when we draw one lucky winner at the end of our blog tour.
And, I’d like for you to stop by my blog www.poppensthoughtsonwritingandstuff.blogspot.com
where you will meet Christine London, a romance author with a touch of British
flavor to some of her novels.
Also, we invite you to
visit the blogs of all the authors taking part in this Holly Jolly Christmas
blog. And, leave a comment for another entry in our fifty-dollar gift
certificate drawing!

Thanks, Andrea!! :-)
DeleteI accomplished losing 68 lbs and feel so much better. I am not a huge fan of Santa because I think he takes away from the real meaning of Christmas, but we all need a hug and so I would probably give that. Thanks for the opportunity at throwing my hat into the drawing. Blessings to you and thank you for the nice interview.
